Althea

Althea is a personal piece that I created during a tough time in my life. I was dealing with a lot of health issues and wanted to express the idea that even in the midst of pain, there's always hope for healing and growth.

The ribcage symbolizes the body's potential for change, and all the different flowers, insects, and fungi each have their own special meanings. Foxglove represents the possibility of both hurt and healing, poppies symbolize resilience and the importance of rest, and dandelions embody hope and strength in the face of adversity.

The lotus flower is all about finding beauty in dark times, and the mushrooms and fungi are a nod to the resilience of the human spirit and the ability to thrive in difficult conditions. The cocoon, hummingbird, and dragonfly are all about rebirth, strength, and adaptability.

I hope this piece resonates with anyone going through their own challenges and reminds them that healing and growth are always possible.
