Boram
Boram
Boram is a piece rooted in anger, the kind that comes from betrayal, hurt, and the weight of emotions we’re often told to bury. I chose each element intentionally: the black dahlia for sadness and betrayal, orange lilies for hatred and disdain, and petunias for resentment. Wasps and centipedes coil through the piece as symbols of fear, loathing, and the kind of sharp, defensive anger that rises when we’ve been wounded too deeply for softness.
I named it Boram, a Korean name meaning worthwhile, because I believe there is value in acknowledging anger instead of pushing it aside. Our anger shows us where our boundaries were crossed, where our trust was broken, and what parts of us still need protection.
Boram is a reminder that even our darkest emotions carry meaning and that honoring them can be worthwhile.
