Bloom
Bloom
This piece is about leaving the body without leaving the room. About drifting away while still lying there, still breathing, still present enough to be seen.
The skeleton rests among flowers that are bright, plentiful, almost comforting. They are not decay or rebirth so much as interruption. Distraction. A soft cover pulled over something that hurts too much to stay with. Bloom is the moment when the mind wanders because staying would cost too much.
Bloom is not peace. It is survival through distance. When the body becomes unbearable, the mind learns how to scatter petals and disappear.
